if y varies inversely as x and y=2 when x=1, find x when y is 4

i want to know the answers for most problems that i ask yall. i really need help please and thanks  and i dont know what else to put

For an inverse variation y=k/x, so if x=1 and y=2 then k=xy -> k=(1)(2) so k=2 and y=2/x.  Substituting y=4 then gets you x=2/y and x=2/4 so x=0.5

y varies inversely as x means that y=a/x where a is a constant.You were given that y=2 when x=1 so a must be equal to 2. So now we have y=2/x now when y=4 i.e. 4=2/x solving for x gives x=1/2.
