I'm not sure how to solve this I know that -79 turns into a positive so then it would be            -63+79 from there I'm not sure what to do.

   ( -63) - ( -79) = 

 

     - 63 + 79 = 16

 

   Dealing with sign number think of a  Subtraction like switch. Any operation changes the existing state of the quantity

 

   - ( +5 ) = -5 

 

   - ( -5 ) = +5

 

   8 - ( +5 ) = 8 - 5 = 3    / Subtraction of positive number is Subtraction  

 

   8 - ( -5 ) = 8  + 5 = 13  / Subtraction of Negative numbers is Addition
