Since you are studying "chemical quantities" in your chemistry class, you are probably supposed to use dimensional analysis. The previous answer is indeed correct, and well explained, but to put it into the context of chemical quantities and to use dimensional analysis, you might want to look at the following:
Na = 22.99 g/mol
Br = 79.9 g/mol
NaBr = 102.89 g/mole
50 g NaBr x 1 mole NaBr/102.89 g NaBr x 1 mole Na/mole NaBr x 22.99 g Na/mole Na = 11.2 g Na = 11 g Na (to 2 sig figs).
