The distance formula is √ (x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2 It does not matter which point is designated (x1,y1) and which is (x2,y2), so long as you keep the x's and y's straight.
√ (-5 -3)2 + ( 6 - 0)2
√ (-8)2 + (6)2 = √ 64 + 36 = √ 100 = 10
The length of the line is 10.
