I don't think anyone can help you with an equation presented like this. What are we asked to solve for? There are two unknowns, x and y. You will need to provide more information in order for someone to be able to help you.

 

What you wrote is saying that there is an angle x, and the cosine value of its half multiplied by negative 1 yields Y.
