A graph shows the relation in pictorial (graphical) form, by connecting dots (points, ordered pairs) by a smooth curve, the behavior of the relation (or function) may be grasped, e.g. where it's increasing, where it's level (constant), etc.

 

The tabular representation shows what output "y" comes from each different input "x" and gives ordered pairs that may be plotted (graphed).
