Hi Peter,
(3s^2)^5 x (3s^2)^-1 = 3s^10 * 3s^-2 (you multiply the exponents when an exponent of an exponent is taken)
3s^10 * 3s^-2 = 3s^(10+(-2)) = 3s^8 (exponents are added when they are multiplied and have the same base)
