The number of combinations of two digits (0s and 1s, or 1s and 2s if you prefer) that you can put into 6 bits (places) is 26 = 64.

Hi,
i'm trying to work out a combination of numbers. Say I have six places, each filled with either a 1 or a 2. How many possible combinations are possible (could range from 111111 to 222222, with every combination of 1 and 2 in between)?
Thanks kindly,
Eric
