He should make two square shaped corrals since that will maximize the area and we know that every square is a rectangle because it is a quadrilateral with all four angles being right angles.
Then, let the side length of one square be x. there are four sides and two squares, so we can write
2*4x = 400
8x = 400
x = 50 ft the length of one side of a square
Two squares with 50 ft side length.
