the square root of -9

i am having alot of problems with algebra 2. I'd like help finding some of the answers because I know that no matter how I work it out I will not end up with the right answer.

The square root of anything negative is always the symbol i. 
i will represent your negative. After taking out i, you can square root the number normally (the square root of 9 would be 3)
So in this way, your answer would be 3i. i is always written after your number because it is a variable.
Remember the square root of anything negative MUST have i!!!
