The direct reason why the government resorted to interning Japanese is the executive order of 9066 issued by F.D.R after the bombing of Pearl Harbor with the intention of preventing espionage on American shores. It was probably fear of any people of Japanese descent to side with Japan and wreak havoc. The irony is that many second generations of Japanese Americans considered America is their country: their loyalties were to America and not to Japan. By relocating all people of Japanese ancestries, it created so many unnecessary fears, worries and chaos to the local governments, and citizens who lived in the inland states where relocation centers were located.
