As an aside for the student if they want to see something more advanced, these are only equal where the left side is defined! The right side is defined everywhere but the left side has values for each the quotients are not defined and hence are not equal. This is like x^2/x=x. This is only true for x not equal to 0! The right side is defined everywhere but the left is defined only for nonzero values.
