In chemistry:

 

     Melting occurs when a solid changes state into a liquid.

     Fusion occurs when a liquid changes state into a solid.

 

Do you have access to your chemistry textbook? You should be able to find these terms in the index or glossary. Getting used to looking up this kind of thing will help you immensely in advanced studies.
