Wait sorry im still a little confused because how would half of that equal 24 if you just only added 24 to half way, it didnt say that 24 was half way of anything

You climbed half way up the wall -- 0.5h
You then climbed half of the remaining (0.5) of (0.5)h, or (0.5)(0.5)h
You are now 24 feet above the ground, (0.5)(0.5)h = 24
