If a hospital patient is given 100 milligrams of medicine which leaves the bloodstream at 14% per hour, how many milligrams of medicine will remain in the system after 10 hours? Use the function A(t) = Ie^rt Not sure how to solve this using the equation. Thanks in advance.

A(t) = Ie^rt

 

t = time

I = initial mass of medicine

At t = 0, A(0) = I = 100 mg

r = rate

The rate is decreasing (less medicine in blood as time goes on)

r = -0.14

 

Equation:

A(t) = 100e^-0.14t

 

at t= 10 hours

A(10) = 100e^-0.14(10)

A(10) = 24.66 mg
