I'm not sure why this isn't just a simple multiplication.

 

It's 27 minutes for one pie, and you need 6 pies.  So it's just 27 min. x 6 pies.

 

Perhaps the problem is more about how to convert 162 minutes into hours & minutes??

 

The simple way:

162

- 60  (1 hour)

=102

- 60 (1 hour)

= 42

 

Hence, 2 hours and 42 minutes.

 

Although that method would be nonsense if you had a lot of minutes.  So you can also divide 162/60.  If you do long division that gives you 2 & 42/60, and the 42/60 means 42 minutes.
