I'm not sure if I know how to do these with fractions in them

x + 9/2 = 3y/2

2x + 9 = 3y       multiply both sides by 2.

 

What are you told to do from here?

And we tutors are not sure what the equation is, i.e. do you mean, for example,

(x+9)/2 OR x + 4.5; do you mean 1.5y or 3/(2y).

 

Parentheses are required, on this platform (WyzAnt) because otherwise it's UNCERTAIN just what is the scope of denominators.
