How are the properties of equality used to solve linear equations? Also fully explain how and inverse operations used to solve linear equations?

i need help answering this question i dnt know how to answer because its a hard question because he don't be teaching about all theses al he do is gove us notes and stuff. So can you help me answer this question pla

your duty as a student is to participate in class--ask questions. all students can benefit from your actions! do not blame the teacher 

 

basically, you can add or subtract anything you wish to both sides of any inequality, and you can multiply or divide, too, by any POSITIVE number, to get a simpler inequality, on the way to solving for the variable.

 

but beware of multiplying or dividing by a negative!--that reverses the direction of the inequality symbol.
