This question is pertaining to Anatomy and Physiology

1) The disease macular degeneration is characterized by a gradual loss of vision as a result of degeneration of the macula lutea. Considering the type of cells in the macula lutea, which type of vision do you think a sufferer of macular degeneration would lose? Why?
 
2) How would the signs and symptoms differ from those in question 1 in a condition that caused degeneration of rods?
