how does higher taxes threat the economy or citizens

I am reading a book by Robert Kioysaki and he explains that during a lifetime, you will face 4 gorillas. One of the gorillas is higher taxes. He breifly says how whenever money is printed, taxes are increased. But he doesn't expand on how it might affect the economy or if not the economy, the citizens

Reading just one book won't fully educate anyone on the topics of money, taxes, and how a society works or should work. Beware of absolutists! Almost everything is interconnected, and, if one may judge from the current USA scene, there is little appetite for depth of knowledge and considered judgment, leading to blind faith in an untested and probably unstable 'leader.'

What is the purpose of taxation? Raising revenue to pay for the maintenance of a functioning society (including its infrastructure and its people).  Taxes are not an evil to be hated--but they must be created by good people for good purposes, and utilized with transparency under the administration of public servants.  This is why education is a basic requirement for society to work well, for the good of all, NOT THE ELITE.
