The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line is: y=mx + b
where m=slope
and the point (0,b) is the y-intercept (the place the line crosses the y-axis at x=0)
For the line:
y = -x + 3
y - (-1)x + 3 [this is y = mx + b]
m = -1 [the slope]
the point (0,3) is the y-intercept
