So we start out with the information that we were given:
$50 to start, then $70/hour
if we think of x as the hours spent fixing a problem and y as the cost we can say:
cost=50+70*hours
or
y=70x+50

Slope intercept form is:
y=mx+b where m=slope and b=y-intercept
So when you put an equation in this form, you know that you will have a point at (0,b), in this case (0,50).
When you graph it you would use this point as a starting point and work out using the slope given. Try plugging in some x values and solving for y.
For example:
y=70x+50
y=70(1)+50
y=120
so your next point would be (1,120)
try plugging in x=2 and x=3 into the equation to get a graph of the function
