Linear function

One federal tax schedule states that if you are single and your taxable income is between $35,350 and $85,250, then you owe $4869.50 plus 25% of your taxable income over $35,350. Is the tax you owe a linear function of your taxable income if the taxable income is between $35,350 and $85,250? If so, find a formula giving tax owed T as a linear function of taxable income I over $35,350. Both T and I are measured in dollars.
