Subtract 5x on both sides of the equation.
2y = -5x + 10
Divide both sides of the equation by 2.
y = (-5/2)x + 5 ---> slope-intercept form
The slope is the coefficient of x. The slope is -5/2.
The y-intercept is the y value when x=0. The y-intercept is (0, 5).
To graph we only need to plot two points on a coordinate system. The first point is the y-intercept. The second point will be obtained using the first point as a reference as well as the slope.
Since the slope is -5/2, move 2 units to the right and 5 units down from the first point.
Second point = (0 + 2 , 5 - 5)
= (2, 0)
So your two points are (0, 5) and (2, 0).
Connect these points on the coordinate system in a straight line and you have your graph.
