Write an equation. Let x represent the amount of one of Sheila's deposits.

At the bank, Sheila made 6 deposits, each in the same amount. Her sister Sherri, made 5 deposits, each in the same amount. Each of Sherri's deposit's was $10 more than each deposit Sheila made. Both sisters deposit the same amount in the end. How much did each sister deposit each time? Write an equation. Let x represent the amount of one of Sheila's deposits.

My solution would be:

x = x + 10 OR

6x = 5x + 10(5)
6x = 5x + 50
6x - 5x = 50
x = 50

Not sure if I'm correct though. I'm trying to help my daughter with homework and I haven't done algebra for 2years, since I took Algebra and Trig for Nursing School.

Thanks!
