What is the location of the mitotic spindle and the microtubules (spindle fibers)?

The mitotic spindles are located the the two poles of the cell.  The microtubules grow outward from the poles and attach to the centromeres at the junction point (kinetochore) of the homologous chromosomes lined up along the metaphase plate.
