The underlying equation that you want to use here is the slope formula: m=(y2−y1)/(x2−x1)
For this set of values, we have the points (−4,6) and (−4,−4).
Plugging these values into the slope formula gives you: m=(−4−6)/(−4−(−4)) m=−10/0
Since division by zero is undefined, the slope of the line that passes through these two points is undefined ... meaning that this is a straight vertical line.
