a) 3/4 is rational. Rational numbers are numbers that can be expressed as a ration of integers. Both 3 and 4 are integers, and 3/4 is a ration of integers
b) -12/3 = -4 ... this is rational (same reason as in "a"). It is also an integer. Integers are the positive and negative whole numbers, and 0 ... since -12/3 simplifies to -4, and i4 is an integer.
c) 0.345345345 ... this is a rational number. Repeating decimals can be written as ratios of integers.
d) -0.6473490424 ... this is not a repeating decimal, and looks like it is not a terminating decimal either. Therefore it is irrational. Irrational numbers are numbers which cannot be expressed as a ratio of integers
