Hi Charry,
(2x-3)^2= 2t^2 +5t -26
First I have a question. Are the variables supposed to be all x's or all t's or are there really x's on the left and t's on the right? I'm assuming the variables are all supposed to be t's, since otherwise there's really nothing to simplify. If I'm wrong, please clarify for me.
(2t-3)^2= 2t^2 +5t -26
Let's foil the left side of the equation.
4t^2 - 12t + 9 = 2t^2 + 5t - 26
Now combining like terms
2t^2 - 17t + 35 = 0
