How can I proof that sin alpha +cos alpha < radican2

How can I use the fact that sine(-b)=-sin b and cos(-b)= cos b yo probé that sin a cos a < radical 2

what exaclty do yo mean I can not max.
i realle need help in understanding this type of problems please. Could someone be kind to help me out?

Not too sure why you do not understand that the problem cannot be done as stated.
-√2 ≤ sin α + cos α ≤ √2 for all values of α.
An unlimited number of values for α solve the inequality.
