Is it really square root or cube root?

 

If it is square root, then it's gonna be 2x√(-2x) or 2x(√x)i, which is a complex number given the imaginary.

 

If it is cube root, then it will be simply -2x. Because (-2x)(-2x)(-2x) = -8x³
