You fish in the same pond until all the fish are caught. You catch 25% percent less fish each day until no more fish are caught. You caught a total of 360 fish. How many fish did you catch on the first day?

S_n = a₁[(1 - rⁿ) / (1 - r)]

 

360 = a₁[(1 - 0.75ⁿ) / (1 - 0.75)]

 

This cannot be solved for a₁ without the value of n.
