Tan2x - 3 = 0
Tan2x = 3
 
Take the square root of both sides
 
Tan x = √3
 
To isolate the x we need to find the arctan of each side
 
Tan-1Tan x = Tan-1√3
x = 60° = π/3

On the interval [0,2π), there are actually four possibilities.  Arctan only returns angles between -pi/2 and pi/2, so there's a missing answer for √3 (located 180 degrees away in quadrant III).  And since tan x = -√3 is also another possibility, two more answers are missing.
