Area = length * width = LW

 

Given:

    W=7

    P=32

 

Substitute values for P and  W into first equation:

    32 = 2L + 2(7)

    32 = 2L + 14

    18 = 2L

     9 = L

 

What is A?

   A = LW

   A = (9)(7)

   A = 63 sq-cm
