A rectangle has 4 sides with opposite sides equal. To find the perimeter you add up the lengths of all four sides.
Let w=the width
Let 2w+2= the length
w+w+2w+2+2w+2=88
6w+4=88
6w=84
w=14
the length is 2w+2=2(14)+2=28+2=30
ANSWER: the length is 30 inches and the width is 14 inches.
