Point-slope form:  y - 5 = (8/5)(x - 2)

 

Solving for y, we get the slope-intercept form:

 

  y - 5 = (8/5)x - 16/5

 

       y = (8/5)x + 9/5

 

Still another way to write the equation is to express the equation in the form Ax+By = C:

 

    5y = 8x + 9

 

    8x - 5y = -9

 

    -8x + 5y = 9
