A theater estimates that 35 people will come to a movie if it is not raining. If it rains, it is estimated that 65 people will show up. If there is a 25% chance of rain, what is the expected number of people that will show up for the movie?

E(X) = .25(35) = .75(65) = 57.5 is the Expected value...sum of the products of the X value (# attendees) times their individual probabilities (rain or not).
