27 codes are possible as what my teacher in math said but im struggling much to find out what are they... HEEEELLLPPP

If you're working in a language consisting of three characters, and you want to make a code (a sequence of characters) of length 3, where the characters can be repeated, then there are 3 * 3 * 3 = 27 possible codes.

 

If the three characters were A B C, then the 27 possible codes would be:

AAA
AAB
AAC
ABA
ABB
ABC
ACA
ACB
ACC
BAA
BAB
BAC
BBA
BBB
BBC
BCA
BCB
BCC
CAA
CAB
CAC
CBA
CBB
CBC
CCA
CCB
CCC

 

But I agree with the other tutors who are complaining about a poorly stated question.

                   Hi Jelene...

                                        If I understand right   what you are talking about

 

                                          is called   FACTORIAL   it has an exclamation mark   !

 

                                        For example; 4 !   (Four  Factorial)  is 1x2x3x4  =24

 

                                                               5!  =1x2x3x4x5  =120

 

                                       And 3 !  =1x2x3 =6      Can be made

I'm wondering if this is what might have been intended: how many 3-letter codes can be constructed from the English alphabet?

 

That answer would be 26 times 26 times 26, if any letter could appear more than once, in any of three positions.

 

But really, the clarity of a problem statement is the most important aspect of a question--that, and the associated definitions.
