You are right to seek clarification to this question (note: I taught Networking and have Network+ cert). If the question merely wanted you to expand the acronyms, then a better phrasing would be, "What do the acronyms LLC and MAC stand for?" [pretty easy, even for the first day of class]
However, if the question tests understanding of the Logical Link Control sub-layer of the OSI model and the Media Access Control address (the unique address, usually set in the NIC hardware), then you should distinguish between viewing the network from the viewpoint of the computer or the network.
From the viewpoint of the computer, the LLC and the NIC provide the interface to the network. They identify the communications protocol (e.g., Ethernet, DECnet) that the software must use to communicate, the hardware interface that is used, and more. From the viewpoint of the network, they identify the computer (because only one computer on a network may have a specific MAC address, and therefore a unique IP address on that LAN).
(note, I'm confident that more acronyms are O.K. to use)
