Two legs of a right triangle are in the ratio 3:4. Find the shorter of the leg if the hypotenuse is 75

I know that the answer is 45 but I can't seem to figure out how I get that answer.

The statements, "Pythagorean triples always have sides with ratios of 3:4:5." and "3:4:5 is the simplest Pythagorean Triple. Any others are just the 3, 4, and 5 multiplied by a coefficient." are false. Many other Pythagorean triples such as 5,12,13 and 7,24,25 do not have the 3:4:5 ratios and are not multiples of 3:4:5.

You're right. It was late and I can't believe I even said that. :P I meant that these particular Pythagorean triples always have sides with the ratio 3:4:5, so any variation is just a coefficient multiplied by one of these numbers. Thank you for pointing that out. I will edit it :)
