Everyday on her way home from school, Jen used $1 to buy a bag of chips. The chips cost $0.75 and she saves the remaining quarter in her change jar. Jen buys 5 bags of chips per week. At this rate how long will it take to save $10.00?

If Jen has $1, spends $0.75 and saves $0.25 every school day, at the end of a week she'll have saved $1.25 (5 x 0.25)

 

If she wants to save $10,

10/1.25 = 8 weeks

8 weeks = 40 weekdays/school days
