You can perform calculus on functions with several variables. For example, you now know how to find limits of functions with a single variable and are able to extend the knowledge to functions of several variables. Find the limit below.

As long as the answer works out without any problems, finding some limits (including this one) is as simple as just plugging in the given numbers for the variables.

 

Use -3 for x and 3 for y in the given expression, and you should get the limit:

 

4(-3)^2 - (3)^2
