height of the student/student shadow length = height of the monument/monument shadow length

 

height of the monument = x

 

6ft./4.75ft =  x/435ft.

 

cross multtiply

 

6 * 435 = 4.75x

 

2610 = 4.75x

 

divide by 4.75 to both sides

 

2610/4.75 = 4.75x/4.75
