Hi Lauren,
we can do this in two ways.
Method 1
If the coordinate of the two points through which a line passes are identical, then the line is a horizontal line that can be expressed as y = a. In our case it is y = 1.
Method 2
Alternatively we can use the slope-intercept form to develop the equation.
First, calculate the slope, m
m= y2-y1 = 1-1 = 0.....if a line has a zero slope, then it is a horizontal line
x2-x1 4-1
once we calculate the slope we can calculate its y-intercept, b, by substituting the values of x and y of one of the points in the expression y- mx +b. Thus,
y =mx+b....lets take the first point
= 0(2) + 1
= 0+1
y = 1
