The y-intercept is the point where the graph crosses the y-axis. To find the y-intercept you set x = 0 and solve for y.
So in 3x-2y=-10, 3(0) - 2y = -10
-2y = -10 divide both sides by -2 and get y=5
The y-intercept for 3x-2y=-10 is (0, 5). The graph of the line will cross the y-axis at (0, 5).
6x+y=0, 6(0)+y=0
y=0
The y-intercept for 6x+y=0 is (0, 0). The graph of the line will cross the y-axis at (0, 0).
