Therefore, if f'(x) = 2x and Δx = 1, Δy = 2(3)(1) = 6.

So how much does Y change for a given X change of 1.

 

If X is equal to 3, then Y = 3² = 9

 

If x changes by 1 (deltax=1), then X will be equal to 4. If X is 4, then Y=4²=16

 

So how much did Y change for the given change in X?

 

Y2-Y1 = 16 - 9 = 7
