First, press MODE and change the settings from degrees to radians. The calculator only graphs trigonometric functions in the radians mode.
Press the Y= button on your calculator. Enter these functions:
\Y1 = sin x + 17x
\Y2 = x3
Press the GRAPH button to see the two curves being constructed. Then press 2ND and TRACE. Scroll down to select intersect. Then press ENTER three times to get the point of intersection. Read the x-coordinate that is displayed on the calculator. That x-coordinate is the solution.
