(q ° p)(-1) = q(p(-1))
First, you will evaluate p(x) when x=-1. The result of that will be the input of q(x).
p(-1) = (-1)2 + 7
= 1 + 7
= 8
q(8) = √8 + 1
Compute q(8) to find the composition. I am not sure if q(x) is √(x)+1 or √(x + 1), so I will let you take it from here.
Do the same for the second question. I will set it up for you to help you start off.
p(q(-1))
