Hi Autumn,
1) Get the y by itself
2x+y=1 (subtract 2x from both sides of the equation)
2x+y-2x=-2x+1
y=-2x+1
2) To graph, use y=(slope)x + (y-intercept)...slope =-2 or -2/1 and the y-intercept=1 or (0,1)
Plot the y-intercept (0,1) first (on the y-axis)
Then plot the slope from that point (the y-intercept)
Slope = rise/run = up&down/left&right = -2/1 means: go down 2 and go right 1 from (0,1) and plot a point
Repeat going down 2 and right 1, put another point, and draw a straight line through all three points.
Have a great day!
