If you look at a graph of the x and y axis, the horizontal line with the point (-2,-4) is y = -4. I don't know what E means. I assumed it is the letter for the point (-2, -4). All of the x's have y = -4, so x isn't needed in the equation.

Hi Dinna,
Equations for horizontal lines are simply y = a number. That number represents how high, or low, the horizontal line will be. For instance, y = 3 is the equation for the horizontal line that is 3 units above the x-axis and y = - 2 is the equation for a hoizontal line 2 units below the x-axis.
For your point E (-2, -4) you can find it on a coordinate plane - it will be how many units below the x-axis? And the equation will be? Answer: y = -4
Good luck with this topic, Dinna,
Mary Ann
